MINNEAPOLIS, MN - April 30, 2003 - Affordable housing initiatives at Minneapolis-based Central Community Housing Trust (CCHT) will expand with the addition of housing development vice president, Jerry Boardman. He joins CCHT on May 15.

Mr. Boardman brings more than 30 years experience in community development, housing and redevelopment, planning and zoning, and in multi-family rental housing programs. He most recently served as the Housing Director of the Minneapolis Community Development Agency.  His wide-ranging experience also includes serving as the Administrator for the Bloomington Housing and Redevelopment Authority and as the HRA Executive Director/Planning Director and Zoning Administrator for the City of Fridley.

In his role, Mr. Boardman will be responsible for implementing CCHT's plans to develop a minimum of 1,250 units of affordable housing in the Twin Cities over the next five years.

Central Community Housing Trust is a well-known leader in the affordable housing arena, providing direction for the development and redevelopment of Minneapolis-based neighborhoods that are home to low- and very-low residents and to adults and youth who were formerly homeless. Recent projects include the development of East Village, a 180-unit affordable housing neighborhood in Elliot Park in 2001, and the Franklin-Portland Gateway project, which will provide 300-units of affordable housing and office space upon its completion in 2004.

Mr. Boardman completed his Bachelor's of Architecture degree at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, in 1972.
