"A complete transformation" - Volunteers bring home-like warmth to Lamoreaux

More than 200 volunteers from Macy’s regional headquarters spent September 15 giving CCHT’s Lamoreaux in downtown Minneapolis a makeover.
“We wanted to create more of a home atmosphere,” says Macy’s Manager of Community Relations Tim Showalter-Loch.
After extensive pre-planning involving Macy’s interior designers, merchandisers, and others, the volunteer teams repainted walls, replaced carpeting and furniture, and hung custom draperies and artwork. Even the community room piano received a reupholstered bench and a tuning.
“One of the most gratifying aspects of it was working alongside residents on the painting and other pieces of the project,” says Showalter-Loch.
The results were welcomed by residents and volunteers alike. “It was a complete transformation,” says Showalter-Loch.
