Sprucing up at Portland Gardens and Portland Townhomes Portland Gardens and Portland Townhomes both received significant attention from volunteer crews over the past two months. Volunteers from Cummins Power Generation and Ceridian combined donated 400 hours of their time and contributed more than $2,000 to purchase new landscaping and other materials. Their energy and commitment really made an impact on these two properties, sprucing up yards for the summer.
In May, 12 employees from Cummins moved many yards of mulch and compost, as well as more than 200 landscaping stones to create new flower beds at the townhomes. They also spent the day planting more than 120 shrubs, trees and flowers, which provide shade and color to the front yards. Despite the heat they worked tirelessly along with the residents to give each townhome some green space to call their own.
In June, 75 employees from Ceridian joined CCHT to paint the porches and wrought iron fencing at Portland Townhomes. It was a perfect day for painting as each person found their niche in this group project. The crew also created new flower beds at Portland Gardens to add some vibrant color to the property.
According to Ceridian Vice President and Controller Randy Storbel, "Ceridian’s Finance department had an enjoyable and productive volunteer day at the Portland Town Homes. This was not only a great opportunity for us to give back to the community, but it also allowed for a tremendous amount of team building as we pulled together to successfully accomplish our goals for the day."
Residents from Portland Gardens and Portland Townhomes volunteered alongside both groups.
