 | Volunteer with CCHT this Fall!
Labor Day Weekend marks the end of summer and the beginning of a new school year. At CCHT, it also marks the time when once again many of our on-site programs are up and running in full force. Be a part of our community-building efforts by volunteering in any of the following areas:
- Resource Room Monitor- Spend one, two-hour shift a week assisting adults and youth with the computers at our onsite computer labs. Assist students with homework as needed. Shifts are available afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Locations include Chicago Ave. Apartments, Portland Gardens, and soon to be Pinecliff Apts.
- Sewing Instructors - Our sewing classes were so popular that word has spread to other properties! Teach basic sewing skills to our residents. Daytime, evening, and weekend hours available. Flexible schedule.
- Movie Night Hosts - One night a week we host movie nights at the Lamoreux and Continental Apts. as an avenue for residents to build community and get to know their neighbors. Movie night host tasks include setting up the dvd player, helping to serve the snacks and spending time with the residents. One three-hour shift a month. Weeknights or weekends.
- After School Adventures - Host arts and crafts or game nights after school at our properties. This can be a perfect small group or family activity. Once a month or once-a-week we'll make this work with your schedule. Community rooms are located at Chicago Ave. Apartments and Portland Gardens.
- Porch Painting! Rain has interfered with our plans to paint many of our porches this summer. Work with a group or individually to help us complete the porches before the snow flies!
- Autumnal Aprons - We are looking for a few good seamstresses to sew aprons for our cooking classes. We can provide the fabric and the pattern.
For more information about these and other opportunities, please contact Tashia Weisenburger, Volunteer Program Coordinator at volunteer@ccht.org or at 612.341.3148 ext. 224
And for the cooking class...
Apron Alert! Add a level of professionalism to our cooking classes. Donate aprons for our resident cooks. Bib-type aprons preferred, but any style is appreciated.
To donate, please contact Tashia Weisenburger at volunteer@ccht.org or 612.341.3148 ext. 224. Donations of aprons also accepted at the CCHT offices, Monday through Friday, 8 am-5 pm.
